If your sales in China are not what you expected them to be, CNMI China Market Intelligence can help you find out what the problem is. We can conduct a product and service problem analysis to help you understand what is holding sales back. There could be many possible causes - perhaps your product assortment does not sufficiently appeal to Chinese consumers, or maybe your pricing strategy is getting in the way of sales. Low prices might scare away wealthier consumers but if your prices are too high you risk missing out on a large market segment. It helps if you know exactly who your target customers are, but sometimes even that knowledge cannot explain disappointing sales.

Take Apple's iPhone for example. Only 5,000 sales in the first week of its introduction in China: very disappointing figures by anyone's standards. Apple's problem could be found in the number of fake and smuggled iPhones already available in the country at that point. On the other hand, Coca Cola managed to become an immensely popular drink in China, not in the least because of its Chinese branding strategy. It adopted the Chinese characters for 'Ke Kou Ke Le' in its trademark, meaning something along the lines of 'tasty and enjoyable'. Coca Cola understood the Chinese inclination towards creative use of characters in brand names, and has seen great returns.

Your sales strategy in China is open to a lot of problems as well as opportunities. At CNMI we possess the experience and expertise to help you improve your sales in China. Contact us and we will get back to you shortly.
